South Africa has now distributed 24 216 614 COVID-19 vaccine doses, of which 134 586 were administered on Tuesday.
According to the Department of Health, of the new administered vaccines, 125 595 were given to adults and 8 991 to children between the ages of 12 and 17.
In addition, the country has now fully vaccinated 13 583 910 or 33.9% of the adult population in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, there are now 309 995 adolescents who have received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Deputy President David Mabuza says while significant progress has been made in containing the spread of COVID-19 infections – the country should not take its foot off the pedal.
“The battle is not over. We are not out of the woods yet. We dare not let our guard down as the fourth wave of the pandemic potentially looms large on the horizon,” Mabuza said.
Addressing the virtual meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee of the South African National Aids Council (SANAC) earlier today, Mabuza said there is a need to ensure that systems and health infrastructure are ready for the resurgence of infections that may reverse the gains achieved.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that the National Flag be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect for the late former Deputy President FW de Klerk.
The former Deputy President passed away on Thursday, 11 November 2021, after an extended illness. He was 85 years of age.
The FW de Klerk Foundation has announced that the cremation and funeral of Mr De Klerk will take place in a private ceremony for family members on Sunday, 21 November 2021.

SA records 136 new COVID-19 cases
South Africa has reported 136 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 926 075.
In a statement on Monday, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) said the increase represents a 0.9% positivity rate.
“The proportion of positive new cases/total new tested today is 0.9%, which is lower than yesterday (1.1%). The 7-day average is 1.0% today, which is the same as yesterday (1.0%). The 7-day moving average daily number of cases has increased,” the NICD said.

At least eight people have been arrested in relation to theft and vandalism of electricity infrastructure in Gauteng over the past two months.
That is according to state power utility Eskom.
The entity said the arrests are the fruits of a collaborative effort between itself and the South African Police Service (SAPS) and members of the community.
“The arrests follow Eskom’s efforts to address the increasing incidents of illegal electricity-related activities in the province. Sadly, two suspects lost their lives due to electrocution as they tampered with the electricity equipment in separate incidents,” the utility said in a statement.

The main task of the Commission has been helping the Christian community in all its broadness to “formulate the Christian mind on world issues and bringing that mind effectively to bear upon such issues“ in order to avoid conflict and war, said CCIA moderator Rev. Frank Chikane.
The WCC CCIA’s 58th meeting took place for the first time in a hybrid form – part of the commission met physically in Johannesburg, South Africa, hosted by the South African Council of Churches, while others joined the meeting online.
