How One Community in Turkana Is Paying it Forward

Turkana County, Kenya, is not an easy place to live. Some have even referred to it as the oven of the world. High temperatures hover at an average of 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The air is dry, and rainfall is scarce.

Many residents have lost all their livestock due to persistent drought, and malnutrition is rampant — especially among children whose mothers struggle to produce enough milk to feed them due to their own dietary deficiencies. And yet, a culture of generosity and creativity is giving way to hope and innovation in partnership with World Relief.

Testimonial: “I want to climb the highest mountain peak and shout to everyone that Jesus saves”

“Every time I listen to each message, I feel so transformed. There is a longing and  desire to follow Jesus honestly. My heart fills with tears, joy, peace, happiness and  hope, of better things to come for the people of God. I want to climb the highest mountain peak and shout to everyone that  Jesus saves,” Rev. Eureka Makalima, Diocese of Mbashe, said in a newsletter published by Growing the Church.

Testimony: Val Field

“Looking back on my more than 80 years, I realise so many mistakes and things I could have done better; things I made a mess of, errors of omission and commission. But one thing I did right was accepting the Lord Jesus as my Saviour!”

Cape Town Pastor in the spotlight for giving away cars to churchgoers

However, in a round of Facebook posts, Kyle Driver, Pastor at Revival Harvest International, started giving cars to churchgoers as “gifts from God”.
“Today we were blessed again to give away another car to a wonderful couple in our church,” the pastor said in a Facebook post dating back October 10. “They are our youth leaders and this is the 3rd car we have given away and we plan to give away more. Longing for the presence of God

“Growing up I had low-self-esteem. I didn’t get on well with my siblings and I constantly fought with them.

“I was already a member of the Universal Church. I started attending services with my mother when I was a toddler. However, I was not committed to God. I used to lie, gossip and I was also short-tempered.

“As I continued attending services, I heard testimonies from people whose lives changed after they received the Holy Spirit. That was when I realised that I needed to change and commit my life to God.”
