South Africa and Nigeria are determined to create a conducive environment for businesses to operate in both countries, says President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The President was speaking at a meet and greet session at the Hilton Hotel in Abuja where he met business leaders ahead of a Nigeria – South Africa Business Forum and his bilateral trade talks with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

The World Student Christian Federation has been involved in climate justice advocacy as part of its Ecological Justice Global Program since 2015. Many activities have been done in COP-related frameworks, particularly related to ecumenical delegations and interfaith coordination.
This comes as the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (The federation was part of the ecumenical coalition for climate justice that attended the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference.

A joint statement by the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children and the World Council of Churches (WCC) reads: “…COVID-19 pandemic has magnified the existing economic disparities and also shown how inequalities violate the rights of many children.”
“While some children have access to online education, millions of students, their parents and teachers, are digitally illiterate and lack access to digital devices and internet connections and are thus deprived of online education.”

Wejryd, who serves as WCC president for Europe, offered heartfelt congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the National Council of Churches in Switzerland.
“Such an anniversary is a reason to celebrate,” he said. “It is a time to look back with gratitude for what has been achieved and a time to look ahead with vision for a ‘living ecumenism’ in Switzerland.”

A member of the World Council of Churches central committee, Temple spoke at the 29 October International Ecumenical Conference for Peace and Security in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
“The happenings in Cabo Delgado in Mozambique, in the northern part of Mozambique are a really sad situation. It’s a sad story,” said Temple.
“As ordinary citizens suffer at the hands of the Islamic State-affiliated, Al Shabaab, that are conducting sophisticated military operations. And the suffering also comes while they’re still trying to cope with the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.”

More than 160 people arrived at the church hall for the event on 17 October, after beginning the day in the church sanctuary with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Aykazian.
Archbishop Aykazian, a member of the World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee, is known for his ecumenical work for both global and Armenian causes, including the recognition of Armenian genocide, the preservation of the Armenian monuments and statements of solidarity with Armenia and Artsakh.

On Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa joined other leaders in announcing a historic partnership with the governments of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as the European Union, to support a just transition to a low carbon economy and a climate resilient society in South-Africa.
He also met with US President, Joe Biden.
